About Sampson County

Sampson County is located in Southeastern North Carolina, right in the middle of three of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the state. This location, combined with our excellent highway and interstate system allows businesses and residents easy access to urban ammenities while still providing a friendly and peaceful way of life.

This excellent quality of life is a major reason that more than 63,000 people currently call Sampson County home.  Whether they choose to live in the quiet countryside, or one of the eight incorporate cities and towns, people here enjoy good schools and a strong economy.  And from an agricultural perspective, Sampson County is one of the most—if not the most—productive counties in North Carolina.  More than 1,200 farms generate income of close to $800 million producing field crops, fruits, grains, vegetables and a variety of livestock and poultry.
